Davido responds to Wizkid losing his mother.

Following the passing of his mother, Nigerian artist David Adeleke, well known by his stage name Davido, expressed his sorrow to Wizkid, a fellow musician.

According to earlier correspondence, Wizkid’s mother passed away following a brief illness, which was confirmed by a close friend of the musician.

Mrs. Balogun passed away in the early hours of this morning, Friday, August 18, 2023. She was a pillar of support for her son’s burgeoning career and was frequently spotted cheering him on from the stands during concerts.

Wizkid’s longtime manager, Sunday Aare, also confirmed the sad news to The Punch.

He said, “Yes, she died this morning, at about 1.30 am”

In a post on his Twitter page, Davido described Wizkid as his brother and assured him that he is currently praying for him.

He wrote: “Praying for you my brother @wizkidayo Sadness flies away on the wings of time.”
