The release of the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results for school applicants has been announced by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). Patrick Areghan, the HNO of WAEC for Nigeria, made the news while in Lagos.

He claims that the pass rate for candidates has increased because, overall, 1,361,608 candidates, or 84.38 percent of the total, received credits and above in at least five subjects with or without English Language or Mathematics, while 1,287,920 candidates, or 79.81 percent of the total, received credits and above in at least five subjects with English Language and Mathematics.

The results of 262,803 candidates out of a total of 1,613,733 candidates who took the exam are being withheld, according to the examination authority, “due to reports of cases of examination malpractice.” In addition, WAEC stated that applicants’ certificates as well as the results for the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examination, or WASSCE, can now be accessed. The steps listed below should be followed by candidates who took the exam to check their results;
