Mrs. Blessing Ajiboye, the pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, was kidnapped, and her captors have demanded N100m from her family as ransom to release her.
Blessing, the spouse of Senior Pastor Johnson Ajiboye of the RCCG, was taken from her store in Elerinjare, a peaceful town in the Kwara State’s Ifelodun Local Government Area, at around 9 p.m. on Thursday.
The unidentified shooters, who numbered about seven, broke into the neighborhood. They started shooting haphazardly before taking the pastor’s wife hostage.
Our source learned that the woman and her two shop employees, who have since been released, were also abducted.
A neighborhood leader told our correspondent on Saturday that the kidnappers phoned the family on Friday night and demanded a N100m ransom.
“According to the most recent information, the kidnappers contacted the pastor’s family on Friday night and demanded N100m in order to release the woman.
“I wonder how they anticipated the pastor would acquire such wealth. Even the community would have trouble coming up with that much money, the community leader said.
The gunmen emerged from the neighboring bush next to the Community Primary School, according to the pastor’s description of what transpired.
“No money was touched by the shooters, and they did not take any. After removing the baby strapped to her back, they only grabbed my 34-year-old wife, Blessing Ajiboye. They threw the infant to the ground, he claimed.
Additionally, it was reported that a neighbor who was allegedly sitting close to the shop and who was reportedly hit by a bullet was reportedly receiving medical care at a private hospital.
