As previously reported, Google is increasing its ad-serving restrictions for teens around the world. The safeguards will apply to Google Accounts of people over the digital age of consent but under 18 years (“teens”) and will complement existing safeguards in Europe and Australia. As previously reported, Google is strengthening ad-serving protections for minors around the world. The safeguards will apply to Google Accounts of people over the digital age of consent but under 18 years (“teens”) and will complement existing safeguards in Europe and Australia. With the implementation of this new teen advertising policy, we will be able to:

Personalization of advertising is disabled.
Allowing sensitive, creative categories to serve is prohibited.
Disable ads personalization

All goods will be depersonalized, and creative ad screening will be implemented in Ad Manager, AdSense, and AdMob. On August 15, 2022, we will begin enforcing the policy.

Previous child-directed rules’ provisions, such as the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Age Appropriate Design Code (AADC), and the Australia Online Safety Act (AU OSA), will continue to apply where appropriate.

Please read this policy to learn about the ad categories that may be prohibited for minors. While you may notice a difference in performance, you are not compelled to take action.
