Technical Officer, Detection and Response

Under the direction of the project coordinator, the technical officer in charge of detection and response is in charge of carrying out fieldwork for the state and local government-level surveillance response on illnesses of public concern for refugees and asylum seekers from Cameroon as well as vulnerable populations.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Degree in public health or laboratory science, pharmacy, nursing, or a related field) with 5-7 years of relevant work experience and knowledge of global health security and COVID-19 response. Or an MPH or MS/MA in an equivalent degree with 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience and knowledge of global health security and COVID-19 response. PhD in Public Health, Medical Sciences, or Medicine, or its recognized equivalent, with 1-3 years of relevant work experience and knowledge of global health security and COVID-19 response. Knowledge of Nigerian public sector health systems, as well as NGOs and CBOs, is extremely desirable.

Assistant Technical Officer, Primary Health Care

The Assistant Technical Officer (ATO), Primary Health Care (PHC), will assess, examine, diagnose, and treat patients who require primary healthcare at the institution. The ATO-PHC will recommend follow-up care as needed and prescribe the proper treatment for patients based on the diagnosis.

Qualifications and requirements

  • MB.BS., MD., or its equivalent, with a minimum of 1-3 years relevant experience in emergency and limited contexts, preferably with an INGO.
  • A valid practising license is required.
  • 1-3 years of clinical experience are required.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian public sector health systems, as well as NGOs and CBOs, is extremely desirable.
  • Prior experience working in a humanitarian situation is strongly preferred.

Assistant Technical Officer, Nurse/Midwife

Providing nursing and midwifery care, treatment, and patient follow-up in accordance with doctors’ orders, service protocols, and general hygiene standards and precautions in order to ensure the targeted population receives excellent and consistent care. Assist female patients in all phases of pregnancy, labour, and postpartum by using your midwifery skills. Additionally, he or she will give women and their families support and counselling during pregnancy and afterwards.

Qualifications and requirements

  • BSc. Nursing or Midwifery with at least 1-3 years of relevant post-NYSC experience.
  • Mandatory: Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife with a valid practising license
  • Additional public health certificates or other qualifications in closely related fields from a government-recognized institution are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian public sector health systems, as well as NGOs and CBOs, is extremely desirable.
  • Prior experience working in a humanitarian situation is strongly preferred.

Facility Assistant

Facility assistants assist the logistics team with the maintenance and management of FHI 360’s facilities, including generators, water systems, electrical furniture, and plumbing systems.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Higher National Diploma / Bachelor of Science in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Building Science, Facility and/or Project Management, or a related discipline with at least 1 – 3 years of work experience
  • Previous experience working in an NGO context is a plus.
  • The ability to communicate in English, Hausa, and other local languages is highly required.
  • Computer literate (MS Office, word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and so on).

Assistant Technical Officer, Nurse/ Midwife
