According to the Lagos State Police Command, the body of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, would be exhumed for an autopsy to help, if necessary, with the cause of death inquiry.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated during an Instagram live session with media personality Ifedayo Olarinde, also known as Daddy Freeze, on Thursday night that the police would look into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.
According to the press, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the force’s public relations officer, stated in a statement on Thursday that the police would conduct a thorough investigation to determine what caused Mohbad’s death.
The Force PRO released a statement this evening (Thursday) stating that an inquiry will begin, and that’s what we’re going to do, SP Hundeyin said during his interview, referring to the Force PRO. The body will be exhumed if necessary. It’s still possible. It is possible to exhume the remains and conduct an autopsy.
Additionally, it is said in the statement that anyone with information should contact the Lagos State Police Commissioner. This is because we no longer wish to employ hierarchy. Bring it to Lagos Command after taking it to Force CID. It is irrelevant. We’re going to balance it internally and see to it that justice is served.
Following the release of a document, the late singer petitioned the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Alagbon, Lagos State, alleging, among other things, that a music promoter named Samson Balogun, aka Sam Larry, had threatened his life, caused malicious damage, assaulted him, and subjected him to oppression.
Sam Larry and 15 other people, who were all armed, allegedly assaulted the venue on June 27, 2023, according to Mohbad’s plea.
He said, “They eventually assaulted him (Mohbad) before he just barely escaped with injuries after they destroyed equipment valued at over N5 million at the scene.”
I, a law-abiding citizen with the aforementioned name and residence, as well as a musician, bring to your attention the assault and danger to my life by the aforementioned individuals.
“On June 25, 2023, while I was shooting a video with another artist named Zlatan (Ibile, the aforementioned individuals, numbering about 15, led by Sam Larry Elegushi, entered the location with dangerous weapons like guns and cutlasses, disrupted the entire shooting process, damaged the equipment I was using for the shooting valued at about five million naira, and began threatening my life. As a result, they turned violent and assailed me.
“The aforementioned images are attached to this petition. Eight Million Naira (N8,000,000) is the total price I paid for the shooting that they destroyed, and it is non-refundable.
“However, during the assault, they boasted that they are employees of Oba Elegushi and that they were asked to deal with me for reasons that are only known to them; to this day, they have continued to make threats to kill me if I am seen. Please use your excellent authority to protect me from the aforementioned individuals and bring them to justice.
Part of the plea said, “Sir, I call on your good office to save my life from the above-mentioned persons and bring them to book.” We appreciate your prompt action.
