State of Benue, Makurdi – The federal government’s plan to disband the governing boards of universities across Nigeria has prompted a response from the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
reported that on Thursday, August 10, ASUU criticized the action and urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to overturn the, what they called, “obnoxious” decision.
The union stated that the FG dissolving the councils before they had finished their terms of office and without “due recourse to the university laws” is “extremely unpleasant.”
The Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM), formerly known as the Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University Makurdi (JOSTUM), in Benue state, hosted a speech by Comrade Christopher Piwuna, the national vice chairman of ASUU from the University of Jos.
