Police officers in Enugu’s Nsukka Area Command have detained three jokesters for creating a horrific viral video in which a woman was stripped naked and had her hair forcibly shaved.
The accused were named as 32-year-old Obed Chekwube Ugwuanyi, also known as MC Sharp, 26-year-old Chinenye Agbo, also known as Star Ella Ada, and 25-year-old Anastasia Onu.
“The trio and others at large are involved in the viral video where Chinenye was seen being beaten, her cloth torn and stripped, and her hair forcefully shaved on the allegation of beating up Anastasia, who is Obed’s girlfriend, and giving her a human bite on the chest,” said the command’s spokesman, Daniel Ndukwe (DSP), on Wednesday.
The viral video generated public outcry and condemnation due to the inhuman and degrading treatments meted out on Chinenye.
However, preliminary inquiry found the trio was a hoax to increase followers on their social media accounts, according to the police.
